EGR Cleaning & Repair
The EGR system routes cooled exhaust back into the intake to lower combustion temperatures. When it fails, you see it in performance and in the rest of the aftertreatment system. A sticking EGR valve, a restricted or leaking EGR cooler, or heavy carbon deposits can cause low power, black smoke, high soot load, rough running and EGR flow fault codes. A leaking EGR cooler can also lose coolant into the exhaust, which may show up as white smoke or unexplained coolant loss. Mondak tests EGR valve operation, flow and cooler integrity before cleaning or replacing parts.

EGR problems often show up as DPF problems first, so we look at both. We command the valve and check its response, compare flow readings, and pressure test the cooler. A cooler leak is confirmed before replacement, because coolant loss can come from several places.
Initial testing can start in the field, but EGR valve and cooler repairs are done at the Glendive shop.
