Hydraulic Cylinder Resealing & Repair
A cylinder leaking at the gland or drifting under load often needs new seals — but that is only true if the parts the seals run against are still good. Mondak's resealing and repair work starts with full teardown: we inspect the rod chrome for pitting and scoring, measure straightness, check the barrel bore for scoring and taper, and look at the gland, piston, wear rings and retaining hardware. Light bore scoring can often be honed out. Damaged rods, deep scoring, or worn glands need repair or replacement. Every rebuilt cylinder is pressure tested before it leaves the Glendive shop.

We diagnose internal leakage before teardown when possible, to confirm the cylinder is the problem and not the valve. After disassembly, we measure and inspect every sealing surface and tell you whether a reseal will hold. If the rod or barrel is damaged, we explain repair options so you don't pay twice.
Cylinders can be removed in the field when needed, but resealing and testing are done in the shop where parts stay clean.
